I nominate Blair because he is always thinking of ways to involve the children on his team (and others) during these difficult times. Blair and the other coaches started the season with some dryland training which he led and programmed and some ball hockey that they played with the U11 B kids. Blair normally runs the warmups because of his background in Human Kinetics and noticed there was no time for warmups, so he began making YouTube videos that guided the kids through a warmup. Blair wants to be a physiotherapist and is currently studying so he is all about injury prevention and keeping the kids injury-free. Recently, Blair and the rest of the team staff got the team together (socially distanced) and they made donations to the Eastern Health Paramedics ‘Pack the Back’ initiative. Overall, I think Blair should be recognized because while being a full-time student, he has put his heart and soul into coaching these children and he does so without looking for thanks.
Blair will receive a coaching package from Hockey NL for his efforts, including: Hockey NL CCM coach bag, 3M Tape Tiger, FOX 40 whistle, Bauer polo shirt and other various items. Keep up the great work Blair!
