2025-26 Registration Information

news2025-08-22

Welcome to the 2025-2026 season. MPMHA board of directors and volunteers have been busy planning for this year and we can’t wait to get started. Registration is set to open on August 22nd, below are some notes to consider when registering:

(1) Players should register for one division only. Per the new “one team policy” that was introduced in 2024-2025 season in the metro area players (U11, U13, U15) are eligible to play with only one team in DJHL, Girls Metro, MCHL, etc.

(2) If registering for All-star tryouts you must make sure you pay registration, and all-star tryout fees and have no outstanding balance on your account. Players with an outstanding balance will not be added to tryout lists until fees are paid or arrangements are made for a payment plan with MPMHA. To find out if you have a balance owing or to make arrangements for a payment plan please contact our office 709-364-5352 or mtpearlblades@gmail.com.

(3) Preseason camps will be offered in various divisions. As per the Hockey Canada pathways we are offering these unevaluated sessions in advance of any tryouts. These camps fill up fast so we strongly recommend all players interested in all-star or recreational hockey to sign up for a camp and kick off a great season. Camp dates and scheduled times are subject to change.

(4) This season DJHL is offering a full-year C division in U11, U13, and U15. This means all our all-star teams in these divisions will be picked at the beginning of the year. With this change, it is MPMHA's goal to have a team compete in each division of the DJHL although our registration numbers (skaters and goalies), and skill level will ultimately determine if we can place a team in each division.

(5) This season Girls Metro League will once again be featuring club-based A all-star teams in U11, U13, and U15, with the U11 teams playing 1-hour games, and U13A and U15A teams playing 1.5-hour games. Our goal is to enter a club-based team in each division. Our registration numbers will ultimately determine if we have the players to do so. In divisions where registration numbers dictate, we would have a second team (tier 2) which would follow the same house league format as previous years. Following registration we will communicate the all-star tryout / team selection process for these girls teams.

(6) Tentative all-star tryout dates *(these dates are subject to change as many factors could possibly move tryout dates and times):

*U11 - Tryouts to commence on or around Sept 13th, 2025

*U13 - Tryouts to commence on or around Sept 24th, 2025

*U15 - Tryouts to commence on or around Oct 1st, 2025

*Players will be expected to attend all tryout sessions, only those with a medical injury/illness or extraordinary circumstance would be considered for an alternative evaluation as approved by the board of directors. Please note that a vacation will not be considered a valid excuse for missing tryouts or considered an extraordinary circumstance*
